J and L BreakfastDoubles partners and twin sisters, Jillian and Loryn Studer (juniors), made a strong showing at the OSAA Girls State Tennis Championships over the weekend.  The duo faced another pair of sisters – Aleisha and Lillian Truong – from Clackamas in their first round match up at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.  Their 2nd place GVC Conference finish propelled the Saxon team to a 6-0, 6-0 win against the Truong pairing.  In the 2nd round, the Studers faced eventual 3rd place finishers Anna Lowy (10) and Bridget Myers (12) from Lake Oswego.  Though both Jillian and Loryn played well and put up a fight, they eventually lost in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

The Studers look to grow from their experience at State in the off-season as they both were announced as captains for the upcoming 2017-2018 season.  They join fellow teammates and juniors Kaitlyn Paluska and Lindsay Flood as selected leaders for the upcoming season.

Additional returning varsity members for next year include Olivia Webster (11), Mariana Rey-Rosa (9), Selbie Christensen (10), Chloe Elmore (10), Kelli McSween (10), Sara Komoda (11), Olivia Ham Marsh (11), Katie Gregor (11), Angela Kea (11), Meg Takara (10), and Catherine Hu (10).
