Meet Recap

Ellie Slama repeated as the OSAA state champion today at Emerald Valley golf course where she shot a first date total of 65 and finished it off with a second day total of 71.

Slama ended up dominating the field as she won the 2017 tournament by a total of 19 strokes. She also set an OSAA tournament record with her low score on Monday.

Ashley Zhu had two great days and ended up tying for fifth place.

The tournament was hampered by heavy rain throughout the second day including two stoppages in play. Most girls finished their rounds in over 8 1/2 hours, due to the weather delays .

The Saxons played well and took home 10th place at the state tournament. Makenah Gentry and Blythe Surritt played well for South Salem.
