Meet Recap

The South Salem Boy’s tennis team played a highly competitive match against perennial district champion Sprague at Bush Park barely losing 4-3 with the final match suspended. The featured match at number one singles was the battle of the unbeatens; Breaden Brooks from South Salem against Sebastian Hammond from Sprague. Breaden won in a hard fought battle 7-6, 3-6, 7-5. Both players exchanged long rallies and experienced momentum changes in the match. They will meet again and are well on the way to become the top seeds in the Greater Valley District Tournament in May. Sebastian Linares, number 2 singles from South Salem defeated Anthony Martinez from Sprague 7-6, 6-4. Ethan Nguyen, number 4 singles from South Salem defeated Hayden Cole from Sprague 6-1, 6-1. South Salem will be competing in the Roseburg Invitational Tournament this coming Friday and Saturday. Go Saxons!
