Saul Dimas Camacho. Boys Varsity Soccer

Senior. Captain. Four year varsity.

Saul has started all thirteen matches this year (11 at striker–2 at keeper).

For his first three years of Saxon Soccer, Saul played keeper for the Saxons.

Although an outstanding keeper, Saul started our first eleven matches this year at striker because that was where he was needed.

Saul is currently our third leading scorer with 3 goals and 2 assists for 8 points.

On October 10th, Saul was moved to keeper at halftime of the “Civil War” match with North Salem after this years’ starting keeper suffered a concussion right at the end of the first half. Saul “pitched” a second half shutout to preserve a one-nil victory over the Vikings, the eventual GVC runners-up. It was our first shutout of the year.

On October 17, in his second match in goal, Saul allowed only one goal–a “soft” PK–resulting in a one-one draw against the eventual league champion McMinnville Grizzlies.

As a 4-year varsity senior captain, Saul and fellow 4-year varsity senior captains–Isai Juarez Mendoza and Jose “Mikey” Reyes–led the Saxons to third place GVC finish, a no. 16 OSAA ranking, and a home playoff match this Saturday–all after losing 16 players (of 21) from last years’ team.
