South Salem (#2 rank in State, 21-3 overall) beat McNary 86 – 50, and finish Mountain Valley Conference play 14-0, going undefeated in league. It was a special night for the Saxons, as Senior Point Guard, Team leader, Co-Captain, Trey Galbaith cemented his own legacy in Saxon basketball history, making a total of 10 three pointers, becoming the all-time leader in three point shots made in a single game. Trey Galbraith finished with 39 points (10 for 12 from 3 point line) and 5 assists. He carried the Saxons in the first half scoring 23 of South Salem’s 40 point score at half, but Saxon only led by 8 at halftime 40 – 32. South Salem came out and proved once again why they are a real contender for a State Championship this year outscoring Mcnary 46 to 18 in the 2nd half. McNary had no answer all night for the uptempo style of play the Saxons played with all game long. Saxons disrupted Celts on defense which led to easy baskets on offensive end of floor. South Salem plays Wednesday, March 4th in first round of playoffs at home vs TBD.
