The Saxon softball team beat the Forest Grove Vikings 12-5 in a game that took eight days to complete. The game was actually started on February 2nd in Forest Grove under very threatening skies and rain beginning to fall. The Saxons scored three in the top of the first and five more in the top of the second with no outs before play was suspended due to rain. The game was finished on Tuesday, February 9th when South went back to “The Grove” and completed the 12-5 win.
Delaney Keith led the Saxons with two hits in three at bats, scoring three runs, and driving in five. Naomi Galante had two hits in three at bats and scoring two runs and Alivia Benavidez drove in three. Alley Isaac pitched a solid six innings to earn the win for the Saxons.
