South Salem Saxons JV2 fell 9-5 to Summit on Wednesday despite out-hitting them 11 to seven.

South Salem Saxons JV2 took an early lead in the first inning. Camden McCool was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

After Summit scored one run in the top of the sixth, South Salem Saxons JV2 answered with one of their own. Summit scored when Ignacio drew a walk, scoring one run. South Salem Saxons JV2 then answered when Andrew Norman singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Summit took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Schutz doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Sheets led the Summit to victory on the hill. He surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out five. Christiansen and Stinson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Stinson recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Summit.

Ethan Watkins took the loss for South Salem Saxons JV2. He surrendered seven runs on five hits over six innings, striking out three.

South Salem Saxons JV2 collected 11 hits. Norman, Trevor Rojas, and Ben Koonce each racked up multiple hits for South Salem Saxons JV2. Norman led South Salem Saxons JV2 with three hits in four at bats.

Stinson went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Summit in hits. Summit stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Stinson led the way with four.
